"Last year, I talked to some people at Barca and recommended them to sign [Aurelien] Tchouameni. They couldn't do it for this or that reason, including the financial one," Cesc Fabregas has told Cope.
Tchouameni is a former Monaco defensive midfielder who has signed for Real Madrid. Fabregas had played alongside him for several years.
Real Madrid landed the 22-year-old for €80m. The player is known for his impressive defensive skills and ball carrying – he could've become the Sergio Busquets' successor at Barcelona.
