Xavi confirms Pjanic to stay at Barca: 'He has convinced me'

“I’m counting on him," Xavi said at a press conference when asked about Miralem Pjanic.

"Those I don’t count on, they know from already.

"I like him, I think he can help us a lot. I’m delighted with him. Pjanic has convinced me this summer and will stay with us."

The Bosnian spent the last season on loan with Besiktas and was expected to leave Barca this summer.

However, the midfielder's commitment in training and good performances in friendlies appear to have changed Xavi's plans for him.

Pjanic is expected to be Busquets's cover this season.
