£170m barrier broken for the first time: Man United set spending record in the summer window

The 2022 summer transfer window officially closed last week with the Glazers making moves towards the end thanks to fan pressure.

Manchester United bolstered their ranks, bringing in Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka.

The Red Devils' summer investment in fees soared to a total of £225.4 million, shattering the club's previous spending record (£170 million in 2014).

Erik ten Hag will now be hoping to but the disastrous start to the 2022/23 season behind as Man United attempt to return to the Champions League.
