'Every player wants to represent there country and I'm no different': Marcus Rashford reacts to England squad omission

England's 28-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Italy and Germany was announced on Thursday.

Marcus Rashford, who hasn't played for the national team since the Euro 2020 final, missed the cut despite his impressive form for Manchester United.

However, it has now been confirmed that Gareth Southgate left out the 24-year-old forward, who has scored three goals in six games this season, because of a fresh injury setback.

Rashford himself went on social media to clear things up: "In regards to, England every player wants to represent there country and I'm no different! Unfortunately I'm not ready yet as I’ve picked up an untimely injury."
