Gavi has joined a 7-man club of Barcelona players with a €1bn release clause.
The other players on the list are Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Raphinha and Jules Kounde.
Gavi's, Pedri's and Araujo's current deals expire in 2026; the other players' in 2027.
Those bumper release clauses are not just about Barca's desire to avoid multi-million 'steals' from other clubs – it's more about the club emphasising how valuable and important those players are in the long term.
