'Just look at the Saliba situation': David Seaman believes Nicolas Pepe has a future at Arsenal

Speaking to the Daily Express, David Seaman said: "The loanees have a future because they should come back as better players because they're playing more.

"Now this season they've got a chance to play somewhere else. Just look at the William Saliba situation and how it helped him.

"Nicolas Pepe, who came in with a massive £72 million price tag and didn't get firing on all cylinders. You can see that there is a great player in there.

"Arsenal need him to be a bit more consistent. For the others it's a chance of getting game time, more experience and more confidence.

"They should use the loan spells as a purpose for getting back to their main club with more power to demand that they get in the first team."

Pepe joined Ligue 1 side Nice on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window after falling out of Mikel Arteta's favour at the Emirates.

The Gunners will be hoping that the Ivorian benefits from playing in France just like Saliba did with the centre-back establishing himself as a key player at Arsenal this season.
