Mirror: Gareth Southgate holds 'heart-to-heart talks' with Trent Alexander-Arnold
Gareth Southgate has held 'heart-to-heart talks' with Trent Alexander-Arnold after the latest England snub, according to the Mirror.
The full-back was left out of the matchday squad to face Germany in the Nations League on Monday, the country's last game before the World Cup.
Southgate explained his decision by saying that he needed cover on the bench, could only select 23 players and Kieran Trippier was a better option than the Liverpool defender.
Alexander-Arnold will now be hoping that delivering at the club level for the Reds would be enough to convince Southgate to change his mind ahead of the November's World Cup tournament in Qatar.
