ESPN: Cristiano Ronaldo 'unwanted by elite clubs' in January

Manchester United are 'confident' that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Old Trafford in January, according to ESPN FC, a tier-two source.

The club's position is down to the fact that there's 'lack of interest' in the 37-year-old. In fact, Ronaldo is actually 'unwanted by elite clubs'.

The Portuguese pushed to join a Champions League club in the summer but the Red Devils only received one firm offer — from a Saudi Arabian side.

Still, Man United are prepared for Cristiano to mount another attempt to leave Old Trafford in January as long as can't win a place in the starting XI under Erik ten Hag.
