The Liverpool v Man City clash last weekend saw some ugly scenes, with travelling City fans signing vile Hillsborough chants.
"I didn’t hear the chant," Pep Guardiola said at a press conference.
"If it’s happened I’m so sorry – it doesn’t represent what we are as a team and a club.
"If it happened. But don’t worry, we can behave perfectly [from] our mistakes. Not a problem."
"I don’t think so," Pep added when asked if the rivalry between Liverpool and City has become 'toxic'.
"From our side, I’m pretty sure it hasn’t."
