'Still so upset we couldn't sign him': United fans react as De Jong misses Champions League start

Frenkie De Jong was once again named on the bench as Barcelona played a 3-3 draw with Inter Milan in the Champions League.

The Dutch midfielder has been sparingly used by Xavi this term after a protracted transfer saga with Manchester United, which ended with Frenkie choosing to stay at Barca.

However, despite turning us down to play in the Champions League, De Jong finds himself in a worse place. And while some fans still want to pursue a move for him, others reckon it's best he didn't join.

Frenkie De Jong spent the entire summer leaking how he only wanted to play Champions league football. Only to barely a kick a ball in the group stage and watch his club crash out into the Europa league for the second successive year. Life isn’t short of irony…
