La Liga president Javier Tebas is proving to be a fan of former Barcelona player Lionel Messi.
Speaking in a chat with Diario Ole, Tebas said he preferred Messi to return to La Liga before Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Well, I think Messi has to come back before Cristiano... But they left and we're still at the highest level, right?" Tebas said.
Ronaldo (37) seems to be struggling for goals this season with just 3 goals in 14 games. Meanwhile, Messi (35) has been in fine form with 12 goals in 17 games.
Perhaps Tebas is only making an assertion based on their current form.
He also makes a point that La Liga is still thriving without Messi and Ronaldo.
