"We had chances, they had chances, it was quite an open game. It is disappointing to go out of the cup," Andy Robertson told Sky Sports after the 3-2 defeat to Man City in the Round of 16 in the Carabao Cup.
"We pushed, we had good chances. These games are decided on fine margins and it went their way.
"When we come up against City, both teams raise their games and push a wee bit further. A really difficult game to start off but it will be good for us to get it in our legs.
"It wasn’t meant to be but there were positives to take.
"Every goal could have been stopped."
Liverpool were eliminated from the competition that they won in 2022.
They managed to equalise two times in the City game but could not find an answer to the third goal from Nathan Ake.
