'Evil lies': Brazil boss slams suggestions Jesus was suffering from knee pain before World Cup

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Brazil head coach Tite said: "I can't repeat things about Gabriel Jesus out there that are lies. These are evil lies, from those who want to do bad things to others.

"Not at any time here in the national team did we pay the price for victory with the health of an athlete. So this liar who is out there… the haters, that’s what they call them, they keep spreading it around.

"Stop spreading fake news and do something else. Arsenal has a great medical department. We have a great medical department. We have a personal responsibility. We have personal ethics. It would never happen like this."

Jesus is out for three months after picking up a serious knee injury during Brazil's 1–0 defeat against Cameroon at the 2022 World Cup group stages.

Several reports in the Brazilian media have claimed that the Arsenal striker had been dealing with knee pain but the head coach decided to play him anyway.
