Speaking to BT Sport after the Wolves win, Marcus Rashford admitted that Erik ten Hag benched him for being late to a team meeting.
"I was a little bit late for the meeting. I slept in, I overslept," the forward said.
He added: "It's the team rules. It's a mistake that can happen. Obviously disappointed not to play but I understand the decision."
Rashford remained on the bench for the first half but was introduced after the break and ended up scoring Man United's only goal in the 1-0 win.
