Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that James Milner might have picked up a hamstring issue in the Man City defeat.
"Millie felt something in his hamstring. After 30 years in the business he said he doesn't think it's a lot," he said after the game.
"Trent is ill so we have to wait. Virgil trained yesterday completely normal and should be ready for Monday."
Milner was subbed off in the first half, with Nat Phillips coming on and Joe Gomez filling in as the right-back.
The hope is that Alexander-Arnold will be able to play on Boxing Day when Liverpool take on Aston Villa.
