The 35-year-old eventually emerged as the Golden Ball winner after inspiring Argentina to their third World Cup title and will crown it with a contract extension.
He signed a two year deal - which ends next summer - with the Parisians after ending his over two decade association with Barcelona, per Eurosport.
According to transfer market specialist, Fabrizio Romano, the deal is a verbal pact between the two parties to continue together.
He further added, no decision yet on length of contract & salary, it will be decided in a new meeting soon.
Lionel Messi is on the cusp of world glory, but his club football future remains in doubt.
The Paris Saint-Germain attacker’s contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 season and no new contract has been finalised as yet.
