Telegraph: Gabriel Jesus to undergo knee surgery, could be out 'for months'

Gabriel Jesus will be forced to undergo knee surgery for the injury he picked up during the World Cup, claims The Telegraph.

The Arsenal striker suffered suspected medial ligament damage in Brazil’s 1-0 loss to Cameroon.

Jesus will now have to accept surgery and it could take him months to get back to full fitness for Arsenal.

He should be ready to return for the Gunners in the second half of the campaign – even though it’s still uncertain when he’ll be back.

Arsenal might be forced to sign a short-term forward option if Jesus is ruled out for a long time.

Apart from the Brazilian, Eddie Nketiah is the only viable option up-front for Mikel Arteta’s side.
