In his interview with France Football, Barcelona's forward Ansu Fati revealed that he could've joined Real Madrid back in the day if the club had accommodations for its young players.
"Before signing for Barca, I tried out for Real Madrid. Back then, they didn’t have a residence for their young players. Therefore, we decided La Masia was the best option," Ansu has said.
Fati had a stellar debut for Barca at 16, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to score in the league and Champions League. However, the forward suffered a severe knee injury two years ago and hasn't been the same since then.
Considering the current state of affairs, the Madrid fans are rather happy that Ansu chose our rivals as a kid.
