€221.7m Spent Already On Defenders: Chelsea still vying for Josko Gvardiol signing after Badiashile arrival

Chelsea’s technical director Christopher Vivell is trying his best to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol later this year, as per BILD’s Christian Falk.

He told GiveMeSport: “I know Vivell, the technical director, knocked a few weeks ago at the door, the telephone door, of Leipzig and asked for January.

“There was a complete no, but he also asked about the possibility in the summer and there is a chance.”

This indicates that the Blues might go back for Gvardiol in the summer, despite signing Benoit Badiashile earliert this month.

Chelsea seem determined to create the best backline in the Premier League, but will probably have to pay over £80m to sign the World Cup sensation anytime soon.
