Chelsea steps up pursuit of Everton midfielder as alternative to Fernandez and Caicedo
Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana who is considered an ideal alternative to Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, per The Times' Paul Joyce.
Onana has been superb for Everton this season with his all-action style of play. He's currently among the top 10 best tacklers in the Premier League this season, per stats by the league - no Chelsea midfielder is in that category.
His fine form saw him represent Belgium at the World Cup in Qatar where he performed well.
Everton signed Onana from Lille for €35m from Lille last summer and are expected to try and keep him as they against battle relegation.
