Dani Alves arrested in Barcelona over sexual assault allegations

Multiple sources are reporting that Dani Alves was arrested by Mossos d'Esquadra, the Catalan police, on January 20 in Barcelona over sexual assault allegations.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian presented himself at a local police station to testify in the case. He was then arrested and left the station in a police car.

A judge will decide whether Dani will remain in detention while the case is being investigated.

As a reminder, Alves is accused of slipping his hands under the clothes of a stranger and inappropriately touching her without consent at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on the night of December 30.

The former Barcelona player had previously denied the allegations, saying that he was only dancing and did not invade anyone's personal space.
