Enzo Fernandez deal off, Chelsea fail to meet Benfica's financial demands

Enzo Fernandez will not be joining Chelsea in the January transfer window, as per Portuguese outlet RTP.

Benfica have refused to accept Chelsea's structure of the €120 million deal, the amount of the 22-year-old's release clause at the club.

The Blues reportedly wanted to pay the fee in six instalments: first being a 'a very large sum' followed by five further payments in the next few years.

And with the Portuguese side demanding the entire figure to be paid right away, and it looks like Fernandez will not be going anywhere before the Tuesday deadline.
