"I have been really lucky 'It's a crazy number': Klopp on taking charge of his 1,000th game as manager

This Saturday, Jurgen Klopp will take charge of his 1,000th game in his managerial career.

Liverpool are one of just three clubs in his career as a coach, along with Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.

"I never thought about these numbers or would be allowed to do it for that long," Klopp told a press conference ahead of the Chelsea clash.

"You have to work and prove for 22 years and you can arrive [here]. A massive thing, I am really blessed. 3 fantastic clubs to give me the opportunity.

"The start at Mainz, Dortmund and here. I have been really lucky with all that has happened. It's a crazy number but the beard is now really grey, I am not sure it was when I arrived. Is that age or LFC? It's fine. I do a job I love for clubs I love."
