My Parents Did Not Make Me Play For Nigeria, It Was My Decision: Ademola Lookman

My parents did not make me play for Nigeria, it was my Decision: Ademola Lookman

Lookman represented England at Under 19, 20 and 21 levels before switching allegiance to the three-time African champions.

According to the report the Atalanta marksman has explained that choosing to repret the Super Eagles over three Lions was a big decision he thought about for long before he made up his mind.

He made his Super Eagles debut in 2022 and has so far made six appearances for Nigeria netting one goal.

Meanwhile, Lookman is expected to resume with the Super Eagles when the AFCON qualifiers start later this year.

Ademola Lookman, who has been exceptional for Atalanta, confesses that it was a carefully made decision influenced by his wish to build an international career. The 26-year-old insists wearing the famous green-white kit is the best step he has taken in his career.

What did Lookman say?

“It was nothing to do with my parents because they wouldn’t really tell me to go here or there,” Lookman told The Times.

“I wanted to build a career internationally. The decision was something that I thought about for a long time before making. To play for Nigeria is an honour first of all and the best decision I ever made. I’m happy I made it.”
