Sterling wanted Liverpool return over Chelsea move last summer

Raheem Sterling wanted to join Liverpool, not Chelsea last summer, The Athletic report.

Jurgen Klopp decided against signing the forward so he ended up joining Chelsea on a £47.5 transfer.

Sterling began his professional career with Liverpool, leaving them for Man City in 2015.

This season, the Englishman has scored six goals and provided three assists in 22 appearances for the Blues.
