(Video) Torres and Savic Sent Off for UFC Style Brawl During La Liga Fixture

Barcelona are already without the services of Robert Lewandowski for the next two games, and will now be without Ferran Torres as well. 

The Spanish attacker was sent off during Barcelona’s clash against Atletico Madrid in Madrid after he was involved in an MMA-style brawl. 

With the Blaugrana leading 1-0 and the game and the game entering injury time, Torres was shown his marching orders after he, and Atleti’s Stefan Savic were sent off for a brawl on the pitch. 

As noted by Give Me Sport, Torres confronted Savic after they were involved in a collision near the halfway line. The situation soon escalated and both players started grappling on the ground, with each trying to put the other in a submission hold of sorts. 

They eventually made their way back to their feet before letting go of each other’s jerseys.

The referee has no choice but to send the pair off for the ugly scenes. 

Thankfully for Barcelona, the red card had little bearing on the overall result, as they still claimed a 1-0 victory. 

Ousmane Dembele scored in the 22nd minute of the game as Barca picked up the three points and moved clear of Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga standings, The Guardian noted.
