Barcelona 'considering selling chairs of Camp Nou' to generate more income
Barcelona's financial struggle doesn't look like ending anytime soon, as the club is said to be 'considering selling chairs of the iconic Camp Nou' as they look to raise more income.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will need to reduce their wage cost by over €200m this summer in order to meet La Liga regulations.
A lot of big name players like Sergio Busquets and Gavi have been linked with a move away from the club as a result of their financial troubles.
The Catalonia club search for income have just attained a new height this week, with the club 'considering selling chairs of the Camp Nou' to help generate additional income as per Achraf Ben Ayad.
Barcelona look set to undergo further financial loss next season, with the La Liga side open to play their home games at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys as the Camp Nou undergoes a long overdue redevelopment.
The capacity of their makeshift home is 55,962 - 44,000 less than the Camp Nou. As a result, the club will endure further financial loss.
But in order to subsidise some of the loss, the club are thought to be considering selling seats from the iconic stadium, which has been the home of FC Barcelona since 1957.
It is not yet known how much the club plan on charging fans in order to purchase their beloved seats, but, after charging fans €300 each for a 60-minute kick about on the pitch last summer, they are unlikely to come cheap.
