Barcelona youngster Fati ‘worried’ about place in team, as several top clubs approach agent

According to a recent report by Helena Condis, Barcelona gem Ansu Fati is very worried about his role in the team.

Several top European clubs have contacted the Spaniard’s agent asking about his current situation. However, Barcelona continue to affirm that he is not for sale.

This comes on the back of reports stating that Barcelona were desperately trying to get rid of Fati. The youngster, despite being fully fit this season, has not shown signs of his 2020 self, pushing him to a bench role for the most part.

Bayern Munich were linked with the player, with Fabrizio Romano even claiming that English clubs are keeping an eye on him, led by long-time admirers Manchester United.

Heading into the season, Fati was competing with Raphinha for that third spot in the attack alongside Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski. He quickly lost his way, though, and is currently behind the Brazilian, and even Gavi for a spot on the left-wing.

He has barely received continuous minutes this season, with rumours suggesting that he wants a bigger role in the team. His agent, Jorge Mendes, had even warned Barcelona that the player could head to the exit door if his playing-time does not improve.

Despite that, Barcelona have despite that they will not sell Fati unless the player explicitly asks to leave. His exit will be complicated, though, given his €1 billion release clause.

Xavi spoke about the player’s game time ahead of the fixture vs Sevilla, saying:

“Things will work out for him, we have to be patient, he is a spectacular asset for the club, we trust him a lot, he is working very well, he has a tremendous mentality in training, but we need to be patient. He is 20 years old and needs time, like everyone else. This is not the time to talk about sales.”
