Newcastle ‘enter race’ to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham

According to German news outlet BILD, Newcastle have now registered their interest in luring the Englishman to St.James Park.

After a Saudi-led consortium took over Newcastle, they are one of the richest clubs in world football and will be targeting some of the best talents to improve their squad.

In order to part ways with Bellingham, Dortmund are set to demand a transfer fee of around £130 million.

Bellingham’s current contract does not run out until the summer of 2025 and the Bundesliga club have not given up on trying to convince the midfielder to extend his deal.

However, in order for Newcastle to have a realistic chance of landing Bellingham, they would have to maintain their fine start to the Premier League season and qualify for the Champions League.

The Magpies are currently third in the league table, three points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
