Newcastle United has been voted as the best atmosphere in the Premier League

Newcastle's rise up the Premier League has been quite the story over the course of the last 12 months, with their famous atmosphere seemingly playing a key role in their rise.

According to SportBible, Eddie Howe's side saw off stiff competition from Leeds United, Liverpool and Crystal Palace to be declared the best atmosphere in the English top flight.

Newcastle cruised to victory with 40.4% of the overall vote, whilst Liverpool claimed the runner-up spot with 26.6%, closely edging past Leeds who received 20.5% of the vote.

Despite being famed for its incredible home atmosphere, Crystal Palace finished bottom of the list, with just 12.5% of voters opting for the Eagles.

Newcastle will be hoping that they can recreate a slither of the St James Park atmosphere when they head to Wembley later this month to take on Manchester United in the final of the Carabao Cup.
