'We see that smile': Ten Hag confident Sancho will be decisive player for Man United

"He has really high standards," said Erik ten Hag of Jadon Sancho after the latter's cameo in the 2-0 semi-final win over Nottingham Forest.

"He has great capabilities to contribute to our team and the team is improving.

"Most importantly players [have to] enjoy football, which gives energy, that gives them the motivation to act and to perform.

"The reception from the fans to him was great and that will give him even more a push to continue in the way he is now acting.

"We see that smile and hopefully he can keep that and contribute to the team because when he is in form he is important to us."

Sancho is finally back for Manchester United after a lengthy absence during which he attended an overseas training camp.

His cameo in the Carabao Cup semi-final was encouraging and his return has come at an important point in the season.
