Xavi reveals reason behind playing Alonso over Christensen vs Man United

 

Speaking about his reason behind benching Andreas Christensen and starting Marcos Alonso over him against Man United, Xavi said: “The two changes in defense are because we have 7 games in the next 21 days.

“We have to rotate and use all the players in order to prevent injuries.”

So it appears that Xavi is just trying to protect Christensen and has benched him to give the defender some rest before a barrage of games over the next month.

Alonso will hope to take full advantage of his opportunity and help Barca get a big win over the Red Devils.
