According to Diario Sport (3 stars), Barcelona will have to pay Jordi Alba a whopping €38m next season which includes his regular and deferred salary.
The Catalans, obviously, would rather avoid paying that amount and will try to pressure the left-back into leaving. They haven't started looking for a new club for Alba but the idea is to either sell him or send him on loan this summer.
Barca is even ready to pay the difference in salary if Alba agrees to a departure.
However, the veteran's intention is to fulfil his contract at Camp Nou which runs until 2024. The 33-year-old understands that Alejandro Balde is in a better form currently but believes he is able to compete for the starting spot.
Besides, Alba's partner is expected to give birth to their third child this summer and Jordi doesn't believe it's the best decision to relocate immediately.
This season so far, Alba has played 22 matches (16 starts) for Barca and has contributed with one goal and 6 assists.
