The Real Madrid captain kept knocking on the door and eventually got his goal towards the end of the game. Big Benz had two shots on target and was menacing all through the match. It's no surprise he was named the Man of the Match by UEFA.

The German is close to retirement but you couldn't tell based on the way he played today. He made some daring tackles, won the ball and made life difficult for Liverpool in that midfield.

Courtois - 8

The big Belgian kept Real Madrid in the game in the first half when Liverpool really threatened. Liverpool just couldn't bridge him once again as he stood firm and commanded his defence well. Stats show that Courtois made five saves and one punch to keep Madrid in the game.

Modric - 7.5

This was another brilliant performance from Modric. Regardless of his age, the Croatian continues to give his best. Against Liverpool, Modric created one big chance, delivered one key pass and won two ground duels.
