'He created nothing today': Xavi hails one Barca star for neutralizing Vinicius Jr threat in El Clasico

 

Speaking about how Barcelona stopped Vinicius Jr from causing chaos in their 1-0 win over Real Madrid, Xavi said: “We can’t underestimate our work to stop Vinicius today.

“He usually creates 6 or 7 chances by himself, but nothing today. Araujo was spectacular, but all of our defenders were really good.

“He is one of the best defenders in the world.”

Araujo kept Vinicius extremely tightly marked and stopped him from influencing the game, not allowing the Brazilian any sniff at Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal.

This allowed Barca to get away with a precious 1-0 win heading into the Copa Del Rey semi-finals second leg at Camp Nou.
