Nacho was asked to speak about the situation around his future with his contract quickly running out.
“I have said it many times after each game: 'I try to live in the present. As I said before, I am living the best moment of my career," Nacho said.
"The season started very difficultly for me. I barely played regularly and I didn't feel very important.
"Now everything has changed. It is as if the situation had turned around. The contract with Madrid is not going to change anything.
"Every summer I speak with the club, with the coach with my family and we made the decision.
“If I arrive and Madrid tells me that they don't want me, what do I do? To this day, I am happy. Having or not having a contract will not influence my decision.
"I will speak to the club and we will both make the decision. If things go as they have been up to now, it will be very easy," the defender added.
Nacho was more or less a bench warmer at the start of the season. However, the situation changed with David Alaba's frequent injuries. So far Nacho has featured in 32 games for Real Madrid.
The 33-year-old will become a free agent in the summer. Some reports claim the Spaniard will leave the club as Real Madrid are yet to offer him a new deal.
