Man City's Rodri accused by Arsenal fans of trying to 'end Martin Odegaard's season' during Spain vs. Norway

Arsenal fans on social media are absolutely fuming over Rodri's tackle on Martin Odegaard during Spain vs. Norway.

Odegaard is currently in action for Norway against Spain in a crunch Euro 2024 qualifier.

And he thought he should have been awarded a penalty when he clashed with the Manchester City midfielder.

The Arsenal captain brilliantly skipped past Dani Carvajal to create an opening at goal, but was denied by Rodri who clattered into him.

Odegaard appeared to take a hefty knock and gestured towards the match referee, asking for a penalty.

He was unable to win a spot-kick as Arsenal supporters online accused the Man City man of attempting to injure their star player ahead of the Premier League title run-in.

One Twitter user wrote: "Rodri tryna hurt Odegaard. Brainless thug."

A second tweeted: "Rodri trying to end Odegaard’s season with an ankle breaker..."

A third added: "Rodri trying to single-handedly ruin Arsenal's title chase with that tackle on Odegaard. Unbelievable."

A fourth said: "This Rodri has always been a dirty Thug that gets away with a lot of dirty tackles. I don't like him at all. That tackle on Odegaard was personal."

A fifth raged: "Was Rodri trying to end Odegaard’s season with that tackle?"

Another commented: "Nah that Rodri tackle on Odegaard has my head hot, he was out to injure him."

Was Rodri lucky not to have conceded a penalty? Let us know what you think.
