Patrice Evra: Van Persie criticised Arsenal work ethic after joining Man United

Patrice Evra has revealed how Robin van Persie was taken aback by the intensity and work ethic during training at Manchester United.

Van Persie famously left Arsenal to move to Old Trafford back in 2012. Recalling his initial reaction, Evra told the Vibe with Five podcast: "Robin, he'd say: ‘Patrice, I've never seen people so professional. Training the way you're training in the training session’.

"He'd say he'd finish the training session, everyone is in the gym. Before training in the gym, after training in the gym.

"That's why he was like: ‘when I was playing at Arsenal, I was still on the pitch and I'd see kids with convertible cars already going to Harrods or whatever’."

Well, things have certainly changed at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta's reign. Despite having a thin squad, we have managed to keep most of our players fit through a gruelling campaign.

United, on the other hand, are still far from challenging for the Premier League title.
