Salah & Gakpo 10: Rating Liverpool players in United battering

Klopp's men obliterated the Red Devils by a record margin — and every Liverpool player deserved at least a seven...

Salah: 10/10. Created many chances for his teammates and played a crucial role in the second and third goals, before netting two goals of his own and becoming Liverpool's leading Premier League top scorer.

The way he made Licha Martinez touch grass with his run before Gakpo's second goal deserves a special mention; so does his sensational no-look, first-time finish for his first. What a game. What a player.

Gakpo: 10. Cody has arrived! The Dutchman was a man possessed today. Scored two brilliant goals, showing excellent composure in front of goal — and great positional sense to get into the positions to score them. It was Cody who broke the deadlock today, opening the floodgates for what happened in the second half.

Nunez: 9. Scored two goals and provided an assist for Salah. That's it; Darwizzy didn't do anything else apart from that but it's not that we're complaining!

Robertson: 8.5. What a pass for Gakpo's opener, absolutely sensational. Robbo was a threat from early on, getting into good positions in the final third. Brilliant defensively too.

Henderson: 8. A great game by the captain — excellent press avoidance, urgency on the ball, good in challenges. Great delivery for Darwin's second goal.

Fabinho: 8. Whisper it quietly but Fab had a very good game as the Brazilian was back to his last-season's form. Solid at the back and was key for Liverpool's second goal.

Alisson: 8. Nearly gifted a goal to United but did well to win the ball back after losing it inside the box. Made two important stops in the first half.

Van Dijk: 8. Imperious at the back, a very commanding display — he lost his position once but apart from that first-half incident, the Dutchman was a wall.

Firmino: 8. It's nice to see Bobby getting a goal and sealing the record-breaking win just a few days after the announcement that he would be leaving Liverpool.

Elliott: 8. Created danger whenever he had the ball at his feet, gave an assist to Nunez's first goal.

Others: Trent, Konate 7.5; Milner, Jota, Bajcetic, Jones N/A
