Snoop Dogg unveils UK football takeover plans after meeting with David Beckham in London

Snoop Dogg has spilled on his plans to put his stamp on football in the UK after catching up with Premier League champ David Beckham.

Snoop Dogg, 51, has exclusively told Express.co.uk of his bid to follow in the footsteps of Wrexham AFC owners Ryan Reynolds, 46, and Rob McElhenney, 45, in making his mark on football in the UK. The hip hop mogul has already set up his own American football league - the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) - and is now planning on expanding this project across the pond.

It comes just days after Snoop was spotted reuniting with his friend David Beckham, 47, who is the current president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City.

Manchester United legend David shared a snap of the pair backstage at Snoop’s concert at The O2 in London earlier this week, hinting they had been catching up on topics including “kids, grandkids and LA”.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the launch of his exciting new game, Hot Box, created with online crypto casino Roobet, Snoop shared that after chatting to Becks, he wants to either start his own football league in the UK, or put a team in the league.

He revealed when quizzed on the subject: “Oh yeah, I’m even keen on trying to start either a league, or even put a team in the league.

“You know how I have my own football league in America with American football?

“I feel like I should have a Snoop Youth Football League over here.

“We have to start that,” he added.

The Gin and Juice hitmaker went on to tell Express.co.uk that his collaboration with Roobet was inspired by the charitable aspect of the partnership.

He divulged: “One of the things that was appealing about [Roobet] was that they were willing to give back to charities, and get back to building and helping out people who were less fortunate.”

Snoop named his Youth Football League as one of the causes at the top of his priority list at the moment, along with a special needs program he is working on.

He explained: “Right now, my Youth Football League [is important].

“And then I have a special needs program where I deal with kids with handicaps, and autism, and special needs.

“We show them a different way and let them have fun and come out enjoying life, and put smiles on their faces.

“That’s my initiative - to make the kids just have fun - because I'm still a big a** kid to this day, having fun!”

The star originally began to coach his Los Angeles youth team, the Snoop’s Steelers, with the aim of giving the young men and boys (aged from five to 13) an activity to keep them occupied in the evenings and to motivate them to stay focused on their goals.

Football isn’t the only thing Snoop wants to take over in the UK, as he also told Express.co.uk he’d “show up and show out” for King Charles III at his upcoming Coronation Concert in May.
