(VIDEO): Peter Drury’s Full-Time Commentary On Liverpool’s 7-0 Win Is Absolute Poetry And Spine- Tingling From Start To Finish

Peter Drury delivered a spine-tingling piece of commentary after Liverpool thumped Premier League rivals Manchester United in stunning fashion at Anfield on Sunday.

United’s sensational momentum since the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar came to a crashing halt with a humiliating 7-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

Cody Gakpo, who was once linked with a move to United, fired Liverpool into the lead ahead of half-time before completing his brace five minutes after the break.

Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah both scored braces in the second half, while Roberto Firmino capped off Liverpool’s remarkable display by grabbing their seventh of the match.

Drury’s commentary at the full-time whistle quickly made the rounds on social media, with the fan-favourite commentator saying United reached a “crushing nadir.”

Speaking in the clip, he said: “Liverpool utopia. An unimaginable zenith. For Manchester United, a crushing nadir.

Speaking after his side’s triumphant victory, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hailed the performances of his players after their “freak result” against United.
“A freak result, but a top performance,” he said.

“The way we started the game was really special. The goal before half-time was sensational, what Robbo is doing there cutting inside and then really calm.

“We have to give ourselves time to get in the right position and then Cody realised in time, super finish.

“Second half couldn’t start better. We force two goals and from that moment on we were flying.”
