Cristiano Ronaldo has been trolled by Al Nassr's rivals, after he failed to score against them, using a Lionel Messi picture to mock the forward.

Are we still in a day and age when anyone asks whether or not Ronaldo is better than Messi? Surely the fact that Kieran Richardson has had his say means everyone's answered the eternal question.

The win at the World Cup for Argentina rather put to bed any questions about their differing achievements, especially with Portugal going out with Ronaldo scoring in a knockout game once again.

After that, the five time Ballon d'Or winner scampered off to Saudi Arabia, having seen his contract at Manchester United get terminated.

Of course, before the tournament, all the talk was of the two legends, and whether they might meet at some point or if one would prove he was greater than the other.

A picture by Louis Vuitton of the two superstars playing chess together basically broke the internet, although it turned out they weren't even in the same room.

Now that picture has been used to mock the 38-year-old, after he failed to score in the game against Al Feiha at the weekend, which his team drew 0-0.

His opponents have now posted that chess picture, but replaced Messi with their captain, Sami Al-Khaibari, along with the caption 'checkmate.'

It wasn't a great night for Real Madrid's all time top goalscorer, as his chances of claiming a league title in yet another country took a knock.

The draw left Al Nassr three points short of title rivals Al Ittihad with just seven games to go, and the two sides don't have to face each other again.

Having failed to score in the game, Ronaldo left the pitch in an extremely unhappy mood and ended up in an altercation with Al Fayha midfielder Ali Al-Zaqan.

On his way off the pitch, the forward was reported to have shouted, "You don’t want to play, huh?", whilst also doing a mouth zipping motion at his opponent.

Not everything has been rosey off the pitch for the superstar either, after his relationship with teammate Talisca hit rock bottom.

However, the Brazilian has clearly put the bad blood behind him, as he decided to sign a new contract to stay with the club until 2026.
