'He’s come with a clear idea': Mateo Kovacic welcomes Lampard's 'clear idea' on expectations

Lampard has come in with a unique task to take this Chelsea team to the end of the season while the club is looking for a permanent appointment.

He has one game against Wolves to test his ideas before the big one next Wednesday when Chelsea are travelling to Spain to take on Real Madrid.

Mateo Kovacic told Sky Sports about the first few days after Frank Lampard's return to Chelsea as the caretaker manager he said:

"We have a short meeting and he has explained to us what he wants, what his desire is for the rest of the season," 

"We have another opportunity to climb up the table as much as we can and we have two beautiful games against Real Madrid, so there is a possibility to finish the season well, and we should take it.

"He’s come with a clear idea of what he expects from us, but it’s still day one and we’ll see what he asks of us on the pitch so it’s difficult to tell how he’s going to be."
