James Maddison reveals he's 'very low' in honest interview and then deletes his social media account

James Maddison gave a very honest interview following Leicester City's defeat to Bournemouth, and sounded extremely low about the situation, before deleting his Twitter account.

Going into the weekend, life at Leicester was already looking pretty bad for the team, as they stare down the possibility of being relegated.

Brendan Rodgers was sacked last weekend, after they were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace, who had themselves just recently re-appointed Roy Hodgson, after sacking Patrick Vieira.

Hope came in the form of Graham Potter's sacking by Cheslea just hours after Rodgers was gone, but the former Brighton boss turned down a move to the Foxes straight away.

Despite all of that, they were still predicted to stay up, but more pain came in midweek, as they were beaten at home by Aston Villa, thanks to Bertrand Traore's late winner.

Former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch, one of the many Premier League gaffers sacked this season, is now expected to become the manager.

However, his, or whoever else's, task was made even harder on Saturday, after the Foxes lost to fellow strugglers Bournemouth at home.

Philip Billing scored the only goal of the game, in the 40th minute, after Maddison's pass handed him the ball deep inside the Leicester half, and the forward fronted up after the game.

 "Yeah, yeah, really tough one to take," the England player told Sky Sports whilst barely being able to look at the camera.

"Very low at the minute, as you can imagine. We knew it was a big game, we didn't try to dress it up as anything else.

"It was a massive game, and one we really wanted to win, and we worked really hard this week to try and win.

"I made a sloppy mistake, with a sloppy pass, in the first half, and it cost us, so yeah, very low at the minute."

Asked how he might pick himself, and the team, up as captain, the former Norwich City player added, "Be sad today and tomorrow then get going again Monday."

Clearly affected by the error, and the loss to their relegation rivals, the 26-year-old then deleted his Twitter account, no doubt to try and get away from any abuse or trolls.

 The loss means that the 2016 Premier League winners are now just two points above bottom of the table Southampton, and two points below safety.

Bournemouth are now three points clear of both Everton and Nottingham Forest, who are currently 17th and 18th, respectively, in the tightest relegation battle in some time.

Maddison was heavily linked with Newcastle United earlier in the season and will no doubt be very popular in the transfer window, whether Leicester stay up or not, but won't want a relegation on his CV.
