Liverpool 'embarrassed' by Arthur transfer, have vowed to 'learn from mistake'

Liverpool's recruitment department are embarrassed by a transfer made in the summer and have vowed not to make the same mistake again, according to a recent report.

The Reds have had a nightmare season and look unlikely to qualify for next season's Champions League as a result.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has a huge rebuild ahead of him this summer and Liverpool's recruitment team have a big job to recruit the right players.

Last summer the club rushed through a deal on deadline day to sign Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus as they needed cover in midfield.

Melo has been injured for the majority of his loan spell appearing just once all season in a Champions League game against Napoli.

Liverpool have recently told the player they won't be exercising an option to sign him permanently, and according to a report from Football Insider, their recruitment team have vowed not to let a similar mistake happen again.

Big changes ahead for Liverpool
Klopp is expected to make big changes to his squad in the summer with Roberto Firmino already confirming that he will be leaving when his contract expires.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin and Naby Keita are also set to follow Firmino and Melo out the door as the club plot to overhaul the midfield.

That could include the signing of teenage sensation Jude Bellingham who Liverpool have reportedly submitted a record bid for.

His future at Borussia Dortmund is still up in the air and he's determined not to rush a decision about where his next move will be.

If the Reds can lure him to Anfield then it will prove that the club's recruitment team are back on track and have learnt from the Arthur transfer.
