Liverpool handed blow in pursuit of wonderkid as Mac Allister asking price learned

Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours on Sunday, April 16.

The Reds face a huge Premier League clash with Leeds on Monday night, which has become a must-win in order to keep pace with the other teams attempting to qualify for Europe.

Liverpool are now five points behind Brighton - who currently occupy the Europa Conference League qualification spot - after Roberto De Zerbi's side won 2-1 at Chelsea on Saturday.

They now must turn their attention to a Leeds side desperate to bounce back from their 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Elland Road last weekend.

Away from the on-field action, there have been plenty of transfer developments and rumours involving Liverpool over the past 24 hours.

Liverpool handed Levi Colwill blow
On Friday, both Liverpool and Manchester City were linked with making moves for Chelsea wonderkid Levi Colwill this summer.

But Football Insider claim that the 20-year-old will hold talks with Blues chiefs when he returns from his current loan spell at Brighton, as the club scramble to convince him to stay.

It is reported that a fee in excess of £25 million may be enough to persuade Chelsea to sell the England youth international.

Alexis Mac Allister asking price learned
In midfield, Liverpool have been heavily linked with Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister after his World Cup success with Argentina.

Football Insider report that Brighton want a fee of £60 million for one of their key midfielders, but their lack of negotiation over a potential sale of Moises Caicedo in January suggests this may be a difficult deal for Liverpool to complete.

Gravenberch 'talks held'
According to Bild reporter Christian Falk, the Reds have held talks with the agents of Bayern Munich starlet Ryan Gravenberch over a summer move - although it may be a loan deal.

Gravenberch completed a big-money move to the Allianz Arena last summer, but has found game time hard to come by in Germany.

Falk tweeted: "There was a meeting between Liverpool and the agents of Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich.

"But no offer to Bayern yet. Bayern insist on the position: Gravenberch is not for sale."

Mourinho 'plots move for Firmino'
Spanish outlet Fichajes (via Sportskeeda) claim that Roma boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Liverpool icon Roberto Firmino on a free transfer this summer.

The Brazilian will leave Anfield at the end of his contract, which expires in June, and could be enticed to move to Serie A for next season.

Roma are currently fighting for Champions League qualification via league finishing position, while they remain in the Europa League at the quarter-final stage.
