Newcastle United receives major injury boost as Allan Saint-Maximin returns to training ahead of Arsenal clash

Allan Saint-Maximin, the Newcastle footballer, has given a promising update regarding his recuperation from a hamstring injury, as his team prepares to face Arsenal soon.

He had been absent from the last three matches due to the ailment, which he sustained during Newcastle's 5-1 victory over West Ham on April 5th.

During the 26-year-old's absence, Newcastle secured wins against Brentford and Tottenham, but also suffered a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa.

Jacob Murphy took on the role of the absent winger, and started all three games, scoring twice in the team's impressive 6-1 victory over Spurs.

Newcastle has felt the absence of Saint-Maximin's dynamic presence on the field, as he poses a significant threat to opposing defenses with his speed, dexterity, and ball control. His return would be a much-needed lift for Eddie Howe's team, as they aim to secure a spot in the group stage of the Champions League for the first time since the 2002/03 season.

Recently, the player shared an update on his recovery through social media.

Allan Saint-Maximin took to his official Instagram account to post a story that reveals two exercise bikes at Newcastle's Darsley Park training ground, indicating that he is training to make a comeback.

While recovering from his injury, the winger had been in France, and his return to England will be a welcome boost for Newcastle, as they enter a crucial stage of the season.

The Magpies are set to play two matches this week, with an away fixture against Everton on Thursday, followed by a home game against Southampton on Sunday.

On May 7, Howe's team will face Arsenal at St James' Park, and this match could mark the return of Saint-Maximin to the field.

Before the victory against Spurs, the Newcastle manager mentioned that the plan was for the winger to return to England on Monday. This was confirmed by the player's social media post.

Howe explained (quotes via Chronicle Live): "There's not been a setback and it's taken a little bit longer than we hope. With hamstring injuries we have to be careful.

"He's not in the country and joins us on Monday. He's ok."
