"No one will remember him after retirement" - Cassano takes another dig at Mourinho following recent comments

"No one will remember him after retirement" - Cassano fires back at Mourinho

Antonio Cassano has continued his war of words with Jose Mourinho by suggesting the AS Roma manager "will not even serve as a shoelace for Pep Guardiola" because he is a "horrible" coach.

The former Roma and Inter Milan forward recently sparked a feud with Mourinho after he gave his thoughts on rumours surrounding 'The Special One's' rumoured return to Real Madrid.

Speaking to Bobo TV, Cassano said: "He can return to Real Madrid if Ancelotti does not continue, but if Los Blancos want a coach, they will not call Mourinho for their new project. Mou doesn’t give a s*** about football."

Then, when asked about Mourinho’s CV in management, Cassano said: “I don’t know how he achieves those results, because it’s just cinema."

Days after those comments were made and Mourinho hit back by saying Cassano is only remembered in the Spanish capital for the jacket he wore when he was announced as a Los Blancos player in 2006.

“Everyone is free to have their preferences and make their criticism, but when talking about others, like Antonio does, it’s different," Mourinho said.

“Some of us work in football, he just wants to enjoy himself. Cassano played for Roma, for Inter and for Real Madrid. In Madrid he is only remembered for his jacket.

"With Roma he won a Supercoppa without playing. At Inter he didn’t even manage the Lombardy Cup in a friendly."

Cassano has since responded with a scathing criticism of Mourinho, who won't be remember by anyone after he retires, according to the former Parma and Sampdoria forward.

"I have never spoken ill of Mourinho as a man, I don't know him and I don't judge him as a person," Cassano told BoboTV.

"I will continue to criticize him on a football level. And you know where you have to put the trophies you've won...you figured out where.

"Mourinho won the [Conference League] in Rome, but he's causing obscene foolishness, havoc, quarrels, expulsions, disasters, players insulted.

"I don't want to win anything, I've always played to entertain the fans, I don't give a damn about trophies. He won by playing obscene football, he must understand that he is poor as a coach."

Cassano added: "Mourinho will not even serve as a shoelace for Guardiola because Pep is a phenomenon and Mourinho is a horrible coach.

"When he retires, Mou, in three days will no longer be remembered by anyone."
