Potter: 'Boys gave everything. If you look at the stats, we did well

Chelsea suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Villa and crashed out of the Premier League top ten.

"The boys gave everything in the game, they absolutely did," Graham Potter said post-match.

"If you look at the stats from the game, apart from the most important one, there's a lot that says we did well. But when you look at the two boxes, that's where we came too short.

"I thought the team game everything, the intention was there.

"We have to accept the result and do better. We can't feel sorry for ourselves. We have a fantastic game on Tuesday against Liverpool to put it right."
