Tottenham left stunned as Newcastle scores three goals in 10 minutes

Tottenham's encounter with Premier League top-four contenders Newcastle turned into a nightmare as they conceded three goals in the first 10 minutes on Sunday.

Newcastle had a three-point lead over Spurs before the match, and upon their crucial Premier League encounter at St James' Park, the Spurs were immediately put on the defensive.

In the first two minutes of the game, Jacob Murphy scored a goal that surprised Tottenham supporters, putting Eddie Howe's team in the lead.

After losing possession recklessly in midfield, Tottenham allowed Joelinton to smoothly advance into their box and take a strong, low shot.

Hugo Lloris managed to block Joelinton's shot, but the ball landed right in front of Jacob Murphy, who scored from close range over the Spurs' goalkeeper.

In the sixth minute, Fabian Schar delivered an excellent long pass over the Tottenham defense to Joelinton, who doubled Newcastle's lead.

The 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder skillfully rounded Lloris and scored by placing the ball into the empty Tottenham net.

In the ninth minute, Murphy scored twice and amplified Newcastle's lead by launching an incredible shot from far away, which was an absolute screamer.

After dispossessing Son Heung-min, Schar located Murphy, who thrashed an impressive strike past Lloris, leaving him helpless as the ball ended up in the corner of the net.

Howe's men piled on further misery for Cristian Stellini's Spurs side when Newcastle striker Alexander Isak scored their fourth goal inside 20 minutes.

Using a superb through ball from the left flank, Joe Willock found Isak, who charged through on Lloris' net.

The 23-year-old Swedish striker then skillfully slotted the ball past Lloris and into the bottom corner of the net.

Despite Eric Dier's efforts to scramble after him, Isak left him with little chance of stopping the goal.

Just two minutes later, the Sweden international completed his brace when Sean Longstaff laid off the ball for him. Isak took a touch and skillfully slotted the ball into the Spurs net again, adding to the Magpies' impressive lead.
